Two colours, one club: our 75th Anniversary kits

The Fleet’s new 75th anniversary shirts were launched on Saturday afternoon at our ‘Beer Garden’ event, with club record appearance holder Jimmy Jackson in attendance to introduce the home shirt and our homegrown appearances leader from the current squad, Michael West, showing off the away kit.

Both kits pay homage to the two clubs who merged to form our present club in 1946 โ€“ the red of Northfleet United and the green of Gravesend United โ€“ with the Gravesend & Northfleet badge and lettering included on the design for both shirts.

The home shirt is, of course, red with a matching collar and two-tone red pin stripes to recall Gravesend United’s pre-war stripes. That club’s green is visible on the home shirt’s sleeve trim which also sports the year of foundation and the words ’75th Anniversary’.

This is also present on the mid-green colour away shirt with red V-neck collar and a darker green overlapping stripe effect, once more to recall the contribution of Gravesend United.
