Memorial match for Tonbridge game + free entry for armed forces

Fleet’s second annual memorial match will take place for our Kent derby at home to Tonbridge Angels on Saturday, November 12th.

The club introduced the memorial match at the beginning of last season in our home clash with Hemel Hempstead Town following the Covid lockdown, initially as a means to remember all supporters who had passed away during your time away from your home ground.

At the time, we stated that we wished to make it an annual reflection to give us the chance to pay our respects on a yearly basis to those supporters who have departed throughout the previous season and additionally an opportunity to remember all our Fleet family.

Our matchday programme will once again feature the names of those who have passed away, in addition to all those names submitted to us last season – and we will also be listing names on the scoreboard pre-match and at half-time.

If you wish to submit the name of a loved one, family member or friend for inclusion, please send to ed.miller@eufc.co.uk by Tuesday, November 8th. Should you wish to include a photo for our website memorial page, do feel free to attach with your email.

There will also be a minute’s silent reflection ahead of kick-off to mark the occasion while we also be honouring our armed forces who laid down their lives, as part of Remembrance Weekend.

And to mark Remembrance Weekend, we will be offering free admission to all members of the armed forces for the Tonbridge game. If you or anyone you know is a member of the forces and would like to attend our game free of charge, please email info@eufc.co.uk by Friday, November 11th with a scanned/photo copy of their military ID (we will not be storing this information and emails will be deleted once ticket issued).
