Jamie Day has already run the gamut of emotions in his first week at Ebbsfleet United as his on-off reunion with Welling United reverted to off once more – as did many of the lights in the ground as the night’s FA Trophy replay was postponed.
The Park View Road floodlights were off in the period before kick-off but restarted. However, fans were held outside Park View Road as the electrics had failed in the dressing room and in the neighbouring Wings Sports Bar, with an electrician investigating the cause.
The referee was reported as happy to allow some time for a restart but with fears of the fault affecting the floodlights once more, the game was postponed around 7.30pm.
A rescheduled game could take place next Tuesday, a day before Christmas Eve, but we await official confirmation of that.
