Fleet get Cards before Christmas

Ebbsfleet United will play Woking in the First Round of the Buildbase FA Trophy following this afternoon’s draw.

The National League side are currently 19th in their division and feature a couple of ex-Fleet players in Brandon Hall and Gozie Ugwu.

The tie will take place on Saturday, December 10th, kick-off 3pm. It comes six days after Woking’s Round 2 tie against Accrington Stanley in the Emirates FA Cup.

The Fleet and Woking have contested numerous cup ties down the year but this will be the first FA Trophy meeting since our clubs first crossed swords in 1978 (Fleet going through 2-0 in that one after a replay). Fleet have also won both recent FA Cup ties against the Cards (2008 and 2012) but lost our last meeting in the Conference at Kingfield.

It will be the first time since beating Braintree Town in the same competition in 2014/15 that Fleet have faced opposition from the division above.
