The pre-season friendly between the Fleet and a QPR XI at the Kuflink Stadium this Wednesday evening was abandoned after half-time following a sudden rain deluge as the first-half closed out.
Having allowed the first-half to proceed in drier conditions, QPR scored twice in quick succession but by then the skies had grown more ominous and the half-time torrential rain meant the ball was not moving across the surface, leaving the officials with little choice in the matter.
Thank you to everyone who turned out for the match – we are all as disappointed as the watching fans to have a second match called off to such freak, localised and unexpected summer weather.
