Ebbsfleet United U13s are the 2019 winners of the Gates Railings South East League Cup! The lads beat Welling United on penalties on Thursday night to lift the cup after the game ended 1-1 after extra-time.
Played at Maidstone’s Gallagher Stadium, the Fleet’s U13’s opened the scoring in the first-half only to be pegged back within 15 minutes. There was no further score with the sides deadlocked through extra-time, though the Fleet had their goalkeeper to thank with a wonderful low save near the end.
Everyone at the club would like to congratulate the boys, their families and their coaches on a fantastic win and a brilliant achievement.
Ebbsfleet surged into the final courtesy of some excellent wins, seeing off Canterbury City, then Cray Wanderers after extra time before putting four past both Whyteleafe and Dover Athletic in the quarter- and semi-finals.
Fleet are also undefeated in the U13 South league, lying second behind Maidstone but with two games in hand.
