The Fleet will run out in our brand-new 75th anniversary red shirts against Tonbridge Angels on Saturday afternoon and they got to pull those over their heads for the first time this week at the annual squad photocall.
Club photographer Dave Plumb was on hand to assemble the 24 players plus management and staff into a tidy bank of three rows in front of the Plough End, in the same position as the first photograph of the 1946 side was taken on the Fleet’s first-ever day of competitive action. Then, of course, the Plough End – or College End as it was originally known – did not actually exist as a stand, but rather an open space behind the goal.
The Fleet’s squad page is now updated with new photographs and latest profiles – so if you need to acquaint yourself with any of your new favourite players, just head over to there right now. And in the meantime, we’ll see you all tomorrow afternoon!
