Mekki makes it a double commitment

Adam Mekki will appear in a Fleet shirt for a third season following today’s announcement that he is returning for the 2021/22 season.

The 29-year-old wide midfielder first joined the Fleet on loan towards the end of the 2019/20 season and became a permanent fixture as he was added to Dennis Kutrieb’s squad last summer ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

The Chester-born player has considerable National League experience with Aldershot Town, Tranmere Rovers and Bromley and has also played for Barnet and Oxford City amongst others.

Mekki made 20 appearances last season to add to the eight in 2019/20 and scored his first goal for the Fleet and what proved to be the winner in the home league game against FA Trophy finalists Concord Rangers in January.

It’s certainly been a week to remember for Adam following his wedding last week and all of us at the club send him and new wife Katherine our heartfelt congratulations… and of course look forward to seeing them both at the Kuflink Stadium through next season!
