May moves on

The club announced this morning that Ben May has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.

Vice chairman Peter Varney told FleetOnline, “Ben has had a difficult season with injury but is now fully fit. He has been an integral part of the squad here since KEH took over and has been a pleasure to work with and we wish him every success in his next career move, wherever that takes him.”

Ben May said, “I have really enjoyed my time at the club and my only regret is that injury this season has restricted my game time. I am now fully fit but recognise that with all the new signings made it will be difficult to get a regular starting place. I would like to thank everyone at the club for all the support they have given me and I wish them well for the future.”

Ben was Steve Brown’s second signing, arriving from Dover in June 2013 and he started 31 out of a total of 42 appearances, scoring 12 goals for the club.
