Kresh crashes into the Kuflink

Ebbsfleet United can today announce the signing of 26-year-old Kreshnic Krasniqi following his departure from Maidstone United.

The six-foot midfielder has considerable National League South experience, although he began his career in Cyprus playing in the Third Division before a move to First Division side Ethnikos Achna.

He played in Fleet’s end-of-season games in March and April, showing his versatility by deploying in a central defensive position as well as midfield.

Born in Kosovo, Krasniqi came to England at a young age and he then returned from Cyprus to sign for Billericay Town, where he spent 2016/17. He was part of the successful Heybridge Swifts squad under Julian Dicks, alongside fellow new Fleet signing Chris Haigh, scoring 18 goals from midfield at the Essex club and reaching the play-offs two seasons in succession.

He spent 2019/20 at Concord Rangers, scoring six goals for the Beachboys and helping the club to progress in the FA Trophy, again alongside goalkeeper Haigh.

His form at Concord earned him a move to National South high-flyers Wealdstone just before the first lockdown, with the Stones confirmed as champions shortly afterwards.

Krasniqi spent last season at Maidstone United, where he impressed against the Fleet in the 0-0 draw at the Kuflink Stadium in November.

“I’m raring to go, especially with the fans back and with football getting back to normal,” the battling midfielder told the Fleet website in his interview, to be posted later this afternoon.
