Kit us out for our 75-not-out

The Fleet celebrate a landmark anniversary next season with the 2021/22 campaign due to kick-off some 75 years on from the merger of Gravesend United and Northfleet United, the two clubs who formed Gravesend & Northfleet, the club that first took to the field in August 1946.

We will have a number of events and souvenirs planned to mark the 75th anniversary announced nearer the time โ€“ but one piece of special merchandise we are setting in motion early is the production of a souvenir kit.

Bespoke home and away kits require advance design and development and so our kit suppliers New Balance are getting the ball rolling with us later this month with initial consultations.

And we are keen to bring fans’ ideas and thoughts to the table as to what they’d like to see in a souvenir 75th anniversary kit.

As many of you will know, the two clubs that came together to form the modern-day Fleet each had more than 50 years of history of their own. Northfleet United shared the current-day Fleet’s red shirts and white shorts kit and also played at Stonebridge Road from 1905 to 1939.

But Gravesend United had no less a part in the club’s history and they wore green and red stripes for their entire existence, before the two clubs came together and adopted Northfleet’s red and white.

We would like to mark both clubs’ contribution in our 75th anniversary celebrations and in terms of home kit design, style as well as potential away colours, we’d like your ideas and contributions also. Please send any ideas this week to info@eufc.co.uk.
