Ebbsfleet United have signed former AFC Wimbledon left back Gareth Gwillim.
Starting his career as a junior with Crystal Palace, Gwillim, aged 30, played for Farnborough Town and Ashford Town before enjoying long spells with Bishop’s Stortford and Histon. He moved into the Football League with Dagenham & Redbridge before featuring in AFC Wimbledon’s promotion run (and play-off final) from the Blue Square Bet Premier Division.
He moved to Sutton United last summer, making 17 starts for the Gander Green Lane outfit.
“We need to strengthen the side if we are to pull away from the bottom of the table” said Fleet manager Liam Daish. “We have been playing well but not getting the rewards our performances have warranted. Gareth will bring considerable experience to the side and I am sure he will make his presence felt.”
