Freddy fits bill as Hill’s second signing

Ebbsfleet United are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Freddy Moncur earlier today.

The 22-year-old former West Ham youth midfielder will be a familiar face to some Fleet fans, having played in the first couple of pre-season friendlies this summer and been to the Portugal training camp with the squad in July. He has been back training with the club recently and manager Garry Hill said, “Freddie’s been very impressive in training. As everyone knows we’ve been very much down to bare bones in the past week or two and we go into an intensive period of games now so Freddy brings us up to an 18-man squad.”

Son of former Spurs and Hammers star John Moncur, Freddy played in League Two during a five-year spell after coming through Leyton Orient’s academy and has also spent time on loan at Bishop’s Stortford. He ended last season with Wingate & Finchley and this season has played for Kingstonian and East Thurrock United.

Freddy, who will wear No.14, goes into the squad for the Buildbase FA Trophy game against Dagenham & Redbridge.
