Fleet trio to depart

Alex Osborn, Preston Edwards and Danny Haynes have all been confirmed as leaving the club this summer as their contracts with Ebbsfleet United are due to conclude at the end of June.

Osborn and Edwards have signed pre-contract agreements with Margate and Dulwich Hamlet respectively, while Haynes’ departure can be confirmed by mutual consent.

Since allย current Fleet squad members are on contract until 30th June at the earliest,ย the club will only make announcements about departures where players have publicly signed pre-contract agreements up to that time. In terms of incoming signings, Daryl McMahon continues negotiations with transfer targets and any deals will be announced to supporters as soon as finalised.

Osborn, 22, enjoyedย three seasons at the Fleet since joining from Dagenham & Redbridge but in 2015/16 spent much of the campaign on loan at Hayes & Yeading, Maidstone United and Whitehawk, appearing in three games to take his club total to 74ย games and 11 goals.

Similarly, goalkeeper Edwards spent 2015/16 with Boreham Wood and Dulwich but will be fondly remembered for all his heroics in a Fleet shirt since joining in 2010/11, clocking up more than 200 appearances in aย stay of outstanding service at Stonebridge Road.

Haynes, a player with an impressive Football League CV, signed last August after a successful trial, scoring three goals in 31 appearances, 20 of them from the bench. He joined Boreham Wood on loan towards the end of last season.

The club wishes all three players the best of fortunes in their careers at their new clubs.
