There was disappointment today as Fleet’s Michael West and Tom Phipp, named in the England C full and standby squads respectively earlier this week, had their hopes dashed following cancellation of the India/Pakistan tour.
The FA confirmed that the proposed fixture against India U23s at Dagenham & Redbridge on 6 September had been postponed as a result of the tour cancellation.
The India v Pakistan games, due to take place in Derby and Glasgow next month, were organised independently with the international fixture at Pride Park receiving FA clearance to be staged in this country.
A spokesman for The FA commented: “The knock-on effect of the tour cancellation means that we have no choice but to postpone the England C fixture at Dagenham & Redbridge FC.”
