Fleet land former Leeds leading man

Going straight into the squad this evening is Fleet’s latest signing, striker Dominic Poleon, 27, who joins the club having played more than 200 matches in the EFL.

Dom’s signing was completed before the recent National League suspension in our expectation that the 2020/21 fixtures and campaign would continue as scheduled. As we resume action against Hampton & Richmond Borough this evening, we are delighted to be able to welcome him formally to the club.

The ex-Chelsea and Southend United youth player – who has appeared in both Fleet’s training matches over the past fortnight – was the leading scorer in Leeds United’s U18s before turning out 36 times for the Whites across three seasons in the Championship from 2012-15.

Away from Elland Road, he spent four years in League One with Bury and Sheffield United on loan and then permanently with Oldham Athletic, AFC Wimbledon and Bradford City. An undisclosed fee took him on to Crawley Town on a two-year deal in 2018/19 and last season he spent with Newport County and Dover Athletic.

A very pacy centre-forward who can also play wide, Dom’s signature had been pursued by clubs in all three National League divisions. We welcome him to the Kuflink Stadium and very much look forward to seeing him in a Fleet shirt for the rest of this season.

He will wear the squad-number 26 shirt.
