Fleet fire in five hat-tricks!

Ebbsfleet United’s Academy side stayed top of the Football Conference Youth Alliance table – and in some style with a 17-0 win over bottom club Margate that included no fewer than five hat-tricks!

Five matchballs (though we’re not sure that many were used in the game!) are due to Caleb Bearman-Dyce, Louie Allen, Harry Salter, Jeff Nguede and Marshall Taderera for scoring three goals apiece. Ben Bowers and Andre Trenton scored the other goals.

The result keeps Fleet top of the table on 40 points from 16 games, four points clear of Dover who have played the same number. Maidstone United have moved into contention in third place after winning at Thamesmead, though they are eight points adrift with two games in hand.

The county-town club are Fleet’s next opponents and we travel there on March 18 before another crucial away game at Dover on March 25 that could define the Academy’s league season. The next match at Stonebridge Road is on April 15 against Thamesmead Town.
