Ebbsfleet United are this afternoon pleased to announce the appointment of general manager Dave Archer to the new position of club managing director.
Dave, who rejoined the board last month, has been at the club since 2014 in capacities including commercial manager and general manager. He will now be tasked by club owner and chairman Dr Abdulla Al-Humaidi with overseeing and implementing the financial restructure announced recently.
Dave told the club website, “I am delighted to accept the position and I am really looking forward to the challenge. Ever since I first came to this club four years ago, I have been welcomed by the fans and I want that relationship to continue. This is a great football club and I ask for the continued support of all our fanbase during what is a transitional phase for Ebbsfleet United.
“I know I can depend on all supporters and staff as I have since the day I joined the Fleet to see us through while we ensure the long-term sustainability of the club. We have a business plan and budget in place going forward to allow us to establish ourselves as a National League club and evolve in tandem with that plan.”
Dr Abdulla said, “I have worked with Dave over the past few years and know that he is the right person to be Managing Director of Ebbsfleet United. Dave is dedicated to the club, hardworking, and understands what needs to be done. His relationship with the fans is great as well. I have no doubt that Dave will lay the foundations of how this club will be managed for years to come.”
