Fleet aren’t having much luck with scheduled matches this summer after news that Saturday’s pre-season friendly against VCD Athletic is postponed because of a waterlogged pitch. This follows the postponement of our first game of the league season after Salisbury City’s expulsion.
Heavy rain has left parts of the VCD pitch waterlogged – and given the Cray-based club’s reseeding and surface work on their grass over the summer, they are understandably keen to avoid undoing all that work by playing on a very wet pitch.
So for your first taste of the Fleet in action, look no further than next Saturday’s home game against Dagenham & Redbridge, quickly followed by games against Charlton, Portsmouth and Gillingham.
