Dom’s on for ’21

Ebbsfleet United start the week with the news that striker Dominic Poleon will be firing the goals in 2021/22 as the former Leeds United and AFC Wimbledon player extends his stay at the club.

Poleon, 27, signed for the Fleet in January, making his debut in the home win over Hampton & Richmond Borough. He made three appearances before the season was ended and scored in two of them, most memorably the winning goal at Havant & Waterlooville with his first touch, mere seconds after coming off the bench (below).

He added further goals through Fleetโ€™s period of training matches and has struck up an ever greater understanding with his teammates as a result of those extra games, ready to springboard into the 2021/22 season.

Poleon brings huge experience to Fleetโ€™s front line having made more than 200 appearances for the likes of Leeds United, Oldham Athletic, AFC Wimbledon, Bradford City and Crawley Town in the EFL.

โ€œThe manager has a clear vision of how he wants to play,โ€ Poleon said on first joining the club. โ€œWith what he demands and what he expects and everyone is buying into that. Iโ€™m certainly buying into it and all the boys are reading off the same page.โ€
