CLUB STATEMENT – COVID-19

Following on from the National League statement suspending the competition until at least April 3rd, we thought our supporters would like to hear a word or two from ourselves in the current situation.

On the playing side, our squad and staff have been advised not to train this week and to avoid all unnecessary contact and tasks in line with official guidelines. All players have a plan to continue with their fitness at home in isolation as and when this becomes necessary over an extended period of time.

Those of us who are able to do so will be meeting on Monday to review the situation in light of the latest official government and National League/FA updates and to determine future plans in the short term. Obviously, this is a fluid, unprecedented and daily-changing situation that we continue to monitor.

The Fleet’s office staff have been fantastic in ensuring our pre-booked conference clients (see link) were accommodated to a high level of service this week. Some staff are now working from home while others remain at the club. The health and safety of our team of staff is our priority and all of them are fully aware of the need to work in isolation if required.

We have also, of course, introduced extra hygiene awareness and controls in and around the Kuflink Stadium.

Our communication channels will remain open for any questions – however, email (info@eufc.co.uk) will be the quickest and most beneficial form of contact given the circumstances currently.

Finally, we are all missing the matches and we know that the football club plays a vital role in our supporters’ lives and the local community. More clarity on how fixtures or the season will proceed, if at all, will be communicated as soon as possible upon decisions forthcoming from the relevant authorities. Until we have clear advice on that, we are unable to shed further light on that situation.

Meanwhile, we would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for all your fantastic support home and away this season.

Take care of yourselves in the weeks ahead, feel free to hop on any of our social media channels or forums if you feel the need to chat football and we hope to see each and every one of you back inside the stadium as soon as the situation allows.

Up the Fleet!
