Chapman chooses Kuflink challenge for a second season

Ebbsfleet United can announce the next player retained for the 2021/22 season is midfielder Ben Chapman.

The 22-year-old signed from Dulwich Hamlet last summer and starred on his debut with a superb last-minute equaliser against Hastings United in the FA Cup that was picked up by the FA Twitter account and others.

Kent-based Chapman was a former Crystal Palace youth before he began his career with Gillingham, making six first-team appearances after his senior debut in 2017.

With a loan spell at Faversham Town followed by a full season at Dulwich Hamlet under his belt in 2019/20, Chapman gained further valuable experience as part of Dennis Kutrieb’s squad in 2020/21.

The two-footed, box-to-box player proved extremely versatile across his 16 games with the Fleet last season, slotting in at left-back and centre-back at crucial points in matches as required, and adding further game time in the club’s end-of-season friendly programme.
