Blake’s seventh Fleet signing

Fleet boss acknowledges fan donations as Fleet sign full-back…

Fan donations have allowed Fleet manager Liam Daish to add to his squad with the signing of 19-year-old full back Ryan Blake on a month’s loan from Brentford.

Daish is keen to acknowledge the part played by the My Football Club Promotion Pledge and a donation from the Fleet Trust that enabled the signing. “Without these fundraising initiatives we would not have been able to bring in Ryan or Conor Okus,” said Daish. “With injuries to Derek Duncan and Scott Ginty, plus Ram Marwa’s suspension, we needed these reinforcements with the busy schedule that faces us”.

Ryan made his debut for the Bees as a 17-year-old against Yeovil in April 2010 and has been called into the Northern Ireland Under 18 and Under 19 squads. He comes into contention for the Fleet squad that faces Hampton and Richmond Borough at Stonebridge Road tomorrow, and Brentford have granted permission for him to be involved in the Fleet’s FA Trophy tie at Droylsden on Saturday.

He previously played against the Fleet at youth level in the FA Youth Cup and is the seventh player to sign first-team forms in the last five days for the club.
