All of us at the Fleet would like to send our best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to our walking football player Tom Sharkey.
Tom suffered a suspected cardiac arrest in a game against Bexley earlier this week. He was given immediate CPR by members of both the Fleet and Bexley squads whose quick-thinking, vital first-aid knowledge and rapid response enabled Tom’s heart to be restarted until he could be treated by paramedics and taken to hospital by ambulance.
Tom remains in hospital, is progressing well and we are being kept informed of his progress. We also commend the amazing reactions of players in both squads to attend to Tom until medical attention arrived.
