“We’ve hit the ground running” says happy Brown

Fleet boss Steve Brown was delighted to claim a clean sheet and extend the winning habit after his Fleet side defeated his old club at the PHB Stadium last night.

“Winning’s a good habit,” Brown told Charles Webster after the final whistle.”We got pulled about a little bit first-half but we addressed that in the second half. We got unpicked a couple of times and we discussed why we got unpicked. But the clean sheets are things we strive for. If we’re keeping clean sheets, you give yourself that one chance from a penalty, set piece, that wins you the game.”

Brown was adamant that this season he wanted his side prepared in the right way and completely ready to go come kick-off of the new season. “We’ve hit the ground running and I just hopeย that keeps going,” he said. “We’ve got two or three weeks to go and I want these guys to be in absolute tip-top condition by the time we get to Salisbury or Concord.”
