Shields shakes hands on permanent deal

Loanee Sean Shields has made his move to Ebbsfleet United permanent following a deal with Dagenham & Redbridge.

The wide midfielder, 22, has spent a month on loan and has impressed manager Jamie Day sufficiently to earn a move, having scored once in four starts and two substitute appearances.

The former St Albans player has scored five further goals this season during a loan spell back at his former club and he leaves Dagenham for the Fleet despite having originally signed aย deal through to the summer of 2016ย with the League Two club.

He has agreed an 18-month contract at the PHB Stadium and Fleet boss Jamie Day said of his capture, “Sean is a young talent who I have had the pleasure of working withย over the last five weeks. Once he became available I felt it was right to bring him in long-term. He has a great attitude and wants to develop further.”
