Macca makes first summer signing

Ebbsfleet United have today completed a deal for Whitehawk playmaker and midfielder John Paul Kissock. The 25-year-old former England C international impressed in the Hawks’ run to the promotion final in 2014/15, clocking up 41 appearances in all competitions last term.

Liverpool-born Kissock began his career at Everton where he graduated through the youth system, collecting England U16 honours aged just 14 and U18 honours at 16. Brief spells in Scotland with Gretna and Hamilton, together with a loan period at Accrington Stanley followed, before he arrived at Southport in 2010. Quickly catching the eye in the Port midfield, he was snapped up by Luton Town at the beginning of the 2011/12 season.

Spells at Macclesfield Town and back in the Football League with Oldham Athletic followed before he was signed by his former Macclesfield boss Steve King for Whitehawk last summer. At the time of his capture, King said the player was “probably the best signing I have ever made. He shouldn’t be playing at this level… and will be a major player in this league.”

He played in both games against the Fleet last season and also lined up against us twice for Macclesfield in 2012/13.
