Loving the pluralisation of loos in the 'winning speech' too. As they say, the dream is nearly a reality - well done to all those who voted and all the very hard working campaigners too. A slight twinge in me is a bit sad to see the snipers et al go, but looking forward to seeing the new ones in place!

The loos website now confirms the mighty Fleet as winners:

Congratulations Ebbsfleet!!

Ebbsfleet's ground is very old, dating back to the 1890s and has bags of character.

Visitors see it as a traditional football club. Unfortunately, the toilet facilities are also very traditional and nearly as old as the ground. Their 'sniper' loos really need to move with the times.

This major investment will be a huge boost to a club that have a proud history; once reaching the 4th round of the FA Cup in the 60s, but at times have struggled for survival.

Maybe we can have the cup on the new page as well and have a best loosers cup competition for local Gravesend league sides to play for each year,or maybe we can get some of the competition sponsors on board as club / match / ball /player sponsors.Maybe we can rename the Fleet Lounge as the Looser's Lounge.Anyway its been a great ride, hope we can find something similar to rally around in the future, well done to you all for all the efforts ::) ;D ;D ;D :D :D ;)

Well done everyone who voted and kept pushing for votes on here, facebook and twitter.

Will have the best loos in the non-league and possibly some football league teams

Well done everybody. Lets hope we get lots of publicity (and a few more people through the turnstiles - if only to view the Bogs!)

Well done to all who campaigned locally and around the world to ensure we won this by a good margin, Like the organisers/sponsors we now need to capitilise on as much publicity we can on this to try and get more regulars through the turnstiles every week...local press, local Radio, as much as possible, where ever the organisers are promoting it we need to be right there with them, Looking at their t & c of the competition I think that is their intention anyway.

May be it is because I am a cynic but I really expected something strange to happen at the end and one of the other clubs to win.

Brilliant that we did it.

The more publicity the better.

Excellent effort all round. Have just posted a big thank you to colleagues at work who voted. Generated a lot of interest up here and I even managed to sell some Fleet artifacts on the back of the interest, so a win win situation for the Club all round! ;D

This is great news although the cynic in me thinks there will be some sort of catch.

Is this the first piece of porcelain we have ever won?

Email Message sent to all Gravesham Council Staff sent this morning by Personnel Services Manager

Hi

Success! ‘The Fleet’, with your help, have won the Best Loosers competition and supporters will benefit from the £100,000 makeover of their antiquated toilets.

The club send their thanks to all those who participated and hope that many of you who are not already supporters will join them in the future.

Well done and happy 2012
